He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. and Mary B. Britton (Hazen); his son Richard; his sister Iva; and his brother-in-law Delbert Ritzhaupt.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Bruney (James), John Britton (Joy), Robert Britton (Ingrid), Dr. Thomas Britton (Sandra) and Cynthia Hopkins (Samuel); his grandchildren, Alayna Beringer (Berni), Tyler Bruney (Elizabeth), Jill Rittenour (Steven), Keith Britton (Renee), Nicole Brown (Nathaniel), Monroe Britton, Madison Britton, McKinley Britton, Carson Britton, Austin Britton (Kaelee), Wade Hopkins (Raye), Katie Hopkins and Colton Hopkins; and his great grandchildren, Carter, Kylie, Karis, Brantley, Lennon, Brady, Everett and Rowen.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wise Funeral Service (129 W Warren St, Bucyrus, OH 44820). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (4707 Ridgeton-Annapolis Rd, Bucyrus, OH 44820).
His family specifically request that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made payable to the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) and will be applied to the disaster relief fund; or St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery Assoc; or SouthernCare Hospice.
