He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest August and Evelyn Flo Smith Tangeman; his former wife Nancy G. McClintock; his son-in-law Jim Deal; and his granddaughters, Mary and Elizabeth.
He is survived by: his wife Rev. Jeanette Rode; his children, Eric Tangeman (Linda) of Wapakoneta and Melissa Deal of Wapakoneta; his stepdaughters, Denise Shupe of Oak Harbor, OH and Jill Rode (Jerry) of Toledo; his grandchildren, Amalie (Adam), Zach, Olivia, Brittany, Brianna (Vinnie) and Chloe; his great grandchildren, Maricella, Anthony and Aspen; and his sister Mary Ann Ewing (Lynn) of Wapakoneta.
