He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy; his son Jerry Andrew (Andy); his parents, John Schmittauer and Virginia Schmittauer; and his brothers, Jack and Jim.

He is survived by: his children, Vickie Staples (Jeff), Jeff Schmittauer and Kristen Schmittauer; his daughter-in-law Polly Schmittauer; his grandchildren, Danny (Sarah), Nicole (Ben), Shawn, Elizabeth, Jerry (Heather), Julie (Eric), Jeffrey, Gillian and Quinlan; his siblings, Joe (Treva) and Mary Staten; and his brothers-in-law, Bobby (Brenda) and Dale Wise. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral Service will be Monday January 10 at 12:00 NOON at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BROAD ST. where friends may call after 10:00 a. m. Masks and Covid protocol are required.
