It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tom Whitman of Bryan, Ohio, born in Edgerton, Ohio, who passed away on February 23, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest H. Whitman and Esther J. Whitman (Robinett); his wife Mary E. Ayres; his nephews, Kurt Whitman and David Lovejoy; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Hartman and Lee Ayres.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffery Whitman (Lisa) of Bryan, Christopher Whitman (Jenny) of Hicksville, Ohio and Shelley Lyons (Curt) of Toledo, Ohio; his grandchildren, Caitlin Whitman (Zack) of Bryan, Joshua Retcher (Beth) of Toledo, Haley Osborn (Brandon) of Waterville, Jacob Whitman of Toledo, Alexis Turk (Danny) of DuPont, Rachel Wakefield (Nate) of Statesboro and Mikaela Penn of Toledo; his siblings, Keith Whitman (Kathy) of Astor, Gary Whitman (Lorraine) of Edgerton, David Whitman (Linda) of West Unity, James Whitman (Pamela) of Edon and Linda Gelhausen (Greg) of Somerset; and his sisters-in-law, Martha Hartman of Bryan and Patricia Balbontin (Norm) of Bryan. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
