He is survived by: his children, Richard "Jeff" Bennett of Bryan, Thomas "Tom" Bennett of Fort Wayne and Julie Bauer (Leonard) of Bryan; his stepchildren, John Buntain (Chris) of Marion, Jeff Buntain of Bryan, Steve Buntain of Altamont, Betsy Dixon (James) of Bryan and Sam Buntain of Bryan; his grandchildren, Josh, Zach, Morgan, Beth, Jacqueline, Johanna, Emily, Lydia, Abby, Isaiah and Rachel; and his brother David Bennett of Bryan. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
