Opal Tawney Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal Tawney (Bryan, Ohio), born in Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on December 24, 2018, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover M. Gearing and Hazel G. Gearing (Croninger); her spouse Hugh Richard Tawney of Bryan; and her siblings, Ralph "Jim", Paul "Doc", Don Gearing, Ruth Clemons and Betty Reich.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Tawney, Jr. (Barb) of Bryan, Stephen Tawney of Lebanon, James Tawney (Veronica) of Baltimore, Jane Tawney of Bryan and Jeff Tawney (Debbi) of St. Petersburg, Florida. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the First Brethren Church.
