She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Mekus and Virginia Mekus (Coressel); and her brother Ferdie Mekus. She is survived by: her siblings, Sharyn Wheeler (Robert) of Bryan and Thomas Mekus (Joyce) of Defiance; her nephew Scott Mekus (Trina) of Edwardsville; and her niece Jennifer Layne of Defiance. She is also survived by nephews and two great nieces.
