He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Newell J. Newcomer and Florence R. Newcomer (Kleckner); his wife Helen Martha Shibler; his children, Glen Newcomer (Ann) of Bryan, Gina Wolfrum (Rolland) of Hicksville, Kristine Layman (Don) of Defiance and Holly Newcomer of Waterville, Ohio; and his sisters, Barbara Dennis (Howard) of Fayette and Sharon Eberly (Charles) of Charleston, Illinois.. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
