He was predeceased by: his former wife Phyllis Mills Hoops; his parents, Ester Hoops and John Hoops; and his children, Kevin and Kay Lynn.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Risner Hoops; his children, Martin Hoops (Cynthia), David Risner (Martha), Rhonda Risner, Randall Risner and Susan Bang (Jeff); his grandchildren, Danielle Lisk (Andy), Renee Batsche (Martin), Brian Hoops (Brandy), Josephine, Olivia, Molly, Grace Risner, Jennah Sauer (Jack), Joseph Hanos, Lily Bang, Kierra Williams, Brianna Rhoades, Malia Mabry, Jennifer and Crystal; his great grandchildren, Audrie, Ella, Iris Hoops, Alayna Turner, Aeden, Guinevere and Alaric Sauer; his sister Mildred Brockie (Tom); and his sister-in-law Vickie Mills. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church.
