He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Peterson and Dorothy Peterson (McKaufsky). He is survived by: his wife Betty Peterson (Ressler); his children, Gary Peterson Jr. (Esperanza) of Dayton, Toni Chevrez, Tammy Burns, Chad Peterson of Eaton, Travis Peterson and Misty Peterson; his stepchildren, Don Rose (Karen) of New Lebanon, Diana Little of Hamilton and Denny Rose of Fairborn; and his siblings, Carol Peterson (Dave), Jeff Peterson, Bob Dehammer (Connie) and Jack Dehammer (Betty). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o Kindred Funeral Home.
