He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Mathews and Florence Mathews (Allen). He is survived by: his wife Cynthia S. Mathews (Honel); his stepsons, John Michael Henlen (Janelle) of Cape Coral and Bradley Jay Henlen of Ridgecrest, California; his grandchildren, John Jr., Abigail and Lucas Henlen; and his brother Richard Mathews of Mercer, Pennsylvania.
A reception was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Briceland Funeral Service (379 OH-7, Brookfield Center, OH 44403).
