She was predeceased by: her mother Mildred D. Githens (Crider); her husband Lawrence "Buck" Trouten; her daughter Norma Jean Gibson; and her sisters, Roberta Peterson and Darlene Githens.

She is survived by: her daughter Karen Slater of Wheeling; her grandchildren, Darrin DeWitt, Vicki and Anthony Slater; her great grandchildren, Alec, Bryce DeWitt, Hanna and Connor Slater; and her great great grandchild Adriana.
