He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Cummings and Lula Cummings; his wife Mary Ellen Adkins; and his siblings, Cleatus, Ewell, Freda Edwards and Nawasa Paulovich.

He is survived by: his sons, Brian (Tracy), Brad Cummings and Bradley Cummings; his grandchildren, Cole and Kelsey Cummings; his great grandchildren, Oliver and Theodore; his siblings, Glenna Fay Adkins and Clarence Milo (Alma Lou); and his niece Carletta Hollandsworth. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
