She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Oma; her husband Douglas Gerds; her son Peter A. Gerds; her daughter-in-law Dawn Gerds; her grandchild Erin George (Gerds); and her siblings, Cilli, Franz, Terry, George, Joe and Hilde.
She lived her life with dignity until she lost her 12-year battle with Alzheimer's on Earth Day.This was fitting as she regularly toiled her hands in the soil, working with Mother Nature.
