He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vernell and Ida Fay Richards (McManis). He is survived by: his wife Sheryl "Cricket" Richards; his daughter Rachael Mills (Augustine); his grandchildren, Peyton and Maycie; and his sister-in-law Debbie Freeland (Tim). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
