He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dayton and Freda Smith; his wife Mary Lucinda Greathouse; his daughter Mary Ann Baker; and his siblings, Harry, Dorothy, Blanche and Ruth.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Lorie Fleming (Harless); his great grandchildren, Bubby and Cate; his nephews, John Smith (Tina) and Jerry Smith (Dorain); and his niece Judy Brison (Tom). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
