He was predeceased by: his mother Betty Thornton-Clark; and his stepfather Benjamin Clark. He is survived by: his wife Linda C. Thornton; his children, Lucas R. Thornton, Elizabeth C. Thornton, Katherine E. Thornton and Ross Thornton; his father Eldon Thornton; his siblings, Lee Thornton, Tom Thornton (Betty) and Melody Roe; and his grandchildren, Chloe Romine, Ethan Wolfe, Keller Thornton and Emma Wolf. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Following the viewing, a memorial reception will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church 29439 Hide a Way Hills Rd ., Logan, Ohio 43138 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary's memory to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215.
