He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Slay and Mabel Slay (Valentine); and his sisters, Kathy and Mary Jane. He is survived by: his wife Violet Jane Slay (Tedrick); his children, Charles D. Slay, Kim Sidwell (Mike) and David Slay (Laurie); and his siblings, David Slay (Peggy), Becky Moore and Connie Mahaffey (Steve). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
