He was predeceased by: his parents, Burnett J. Cowart and Mabel Ellen Moore Cowart; his wife Nancy Cowart; and his siblings, Marilyn Cowart, Burnett Cowart, Jr. and John Cowart.
He is survived by: his son Jim Cowart (Peter); his grandson Elijah; his siblings, James Cowart (Noriko) and Mabel A. Evans; his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Carroll and Bruce Strom; and his nieces and nephews, Rich Evans (Gail), Randell Evans (Darla), Tim Carroll (Lynn), Jill Carroll and Lisa Carter (Craig). He is also survived by other nieces nephews and friends.
