He was predeceased by: his parents, James Kempfer and Elisabeth Kempfer (Gill); his sister Phyllis Kempfer Crews; and his nephews, John Crews and Phillip Crews.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma (Carlson); his children, Lisa and Jeffrey (Wendy); his grandchildren, Katherine Baker (Tyler), Sarah Ellsworth (Michael) and Matthew Kempfer; his great grandchildren, Graham, Emmett and Madelyn Baker; and his nephews, David Crews (Tawanya) and James Crews (Sue).
