He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Homer Franklin Shaffer and Jenny Mae Gindlesperger; his wife Alice (Baltzer); his children, Ryan H. Shaffer (Joni), Elise Nelson (James) and Eileen Marshall (Howard); and his sister Verna Boyer (Shaffer). He was also cherished by five grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.
