He is survived by: his wife Susan Schulze; his sons, Ronald Dale James Jr, Randall James (Marta) of Lockington, Ross James (Candice) of Fruitlands, UT and Ricky James (Janae) of Piqua; his stepchildren, Natalie Schulze of Marysville and Patrick Schulze (Jessie) of Archbold; his son-in-law Fred Crowl of Davis; his half-brother Rick James; his stepsister Mary Swartz of Parsons, WV; his half-sisters, Joy Sturms and Sheila Johnson; and his brother Larry Hedrick. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.
