He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Ann Mottinger; his son Patrick Alan Mottinger; his sister Vonnie Owen; and his parents-in-law, Jay and Bette Johnson.

He is survived by: his brother William; his sister-in-law Ann Mottinger of Portland, Oregon; his sister Tamara; his brother-in-law Nolan Harrison of Troy; his nieces and nephews, Sandra Owen, Jerry (Debbie Owen), Marcus Harrison, Mike Harrison, Brad (Sinead Harrison) and Janice (Art Myers); and his siblings-in-law, Gary Allen Johnson of Bradford, Jayne and John Cassidy of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bradford Fire & Rescue Department.
