He is survived by: his father Michael Schmitz (Christy) of Bedford Heights; his spouse Christy Clover; his children, Nathan Schmitz of Braceville, Michael McClellan (Nikki) of Niles and Katie McClellan of Florida; and his sisters, Cynthia Schmitz (Steve) of Richfield and Tricia (James).

In lieu of flowers the family asks that monetary donations be made to his son Nathan.
