He was predeceased by: his mother Frances Shaffer (Weaver); his son Randall L. Shaffer of Lima; his grandchildren, Jason Shaffer (Julie), Leah Reprogle (Jeff), Nicole Shaffer Beene, Sheramy Horner (Jeff), Stacy Clay (Vince), Stephanie Risner, David Risner, Jr., Kristi Eberle (Tim), Kennedy and Hunter Bohr; his great great grandchild Elliott Brown; and also, Emma Shaffer, Josie Shaffer, Keira Shaffer, Aubrey McMahan (Torrance, Jr.), Hunter Reprogle, Zane Reprogle, Brandon Eberle, Bradley Eberle, Brandi Eberle, David Risner, III, Brooke Horner, Julia Brown (Todd, Jr.), Brian Horner, Ava Clay, Logan Clay, Joey Novilla (Jerica) and Ethan Beene.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory P. Shaffer of Lima, Jeffrey A. Shaffer (Holly) of Lima, Debra F. Risner, Sr. (David) of Lima, Susan K. Holbrook of Lima, Michael D. Shaffer of Lima and Lisa Bohr (Tim) of Indianapolis; and his siblings, Mary Sibold (Robert, Sr.), Bud Shaffer (Harold), Louis Shaffer, David Shaffer and Leroy Carey.
