Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dunn Funeral Home- Bowling Green Chapel (408 W Wooster St, Bowling Green, OH 43402). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church (150 S Enterprise St, Bowling Green, OH 43402).

In lieu of flowers, his family suggests a donation in memory of Marc to the BGSU Foundation International Studies Program Fund or to the Wood County District Public Library Foundation.

“I'm sad that the world has lost such a good person. I know that he was a good person professionally (we were both department chairs), and a good person socially (we played low stakes recreational poker in a group of academics. In fact, the bet of 15 cents came to be known as "the Simon"). In both of these settings he was always thoughtful, compassionate, and a joy to be around. I will miss him. Pete VanderHart”
