He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Studer and Bernice Studer (Wilson); his wife Jeanette Studer (Hummel); his daughter Sara Hammer; his stepson Lee Fretter; his son-in-law Bill Buchman; and his siblings, Rolland, Leslie, John, James Studer and Norma Rarick.

He is survived by: his son Matthew Studer (Hayley); his stepchildren, Sue Buchman and David Fretter; his son-in-law Timothy Hammer; his grandchildren, Heather Hill (Jason), Daniele Seifert (Jacob), Joanna Brentlinger (Andy), Aaron Fretter (Jennifer), Charlotte Chancey (Scott), Elizabeth, Garret Hammer, Trey and Jaycie Studer; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Jason Parker Hill, Maddox, Asher Seifert, Eddie, Henry Brentlinger, Gabe, Raphael, Angela Fretter, Jeanette Fretter and Baker Hammer; his siblings, Wilma Porter (Raymond), Walter Studer (Sharon) and Alan Studer (Sandra); and his sisters-in-law, Kay Studer and Wilma Studer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
