He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles S. Harkness and Agnes M. Harkness (Schroder). He is survived by: his wife Mary Shelley Carr; and his children, Paul Joseph Harkness (Kat), Daniel Sherman Harkness (Anka), Katherine Marie Hall (Eric) and John Charles Harkness (Teri). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.
