He was predeceased by: his father Melvin R. Johnson; and his brother-in-law William "Billy" Hertzfeld, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Janis K. Johnson (Smith); his wife Amy Hertzfeld; his sons, Drake Johnson (Justina) of Weston and Dane Johnson (Michenzi) of Bowling Green; his granddaughters, Ava and Aliyah; his brother Chad; and his nieces and nephews, Brandon, Logann, Morgan, Nathan, Faith, Phoenix, Destiny, Adelyn and William.
