He was predeceased by: his father Robert Heringhaus; and his siblings, Bernard Heringhaus, William Heringhaus, Thomas Heringhaus and Mary Jane Schmenk (Don).

He is survived by: his wife Pamela (Kaufman); his children, Laura Heringhaus (Marlon Sierra) of Perrysburg, Mark Heringhaus (Shannon) of Huntersville and Brett Heringhaus of Lambertville; his grandchildren, Drew Heringhaus, Grace Heringhaus and Philomina Sierra; his siblings, Ann Heringhaus (Russ Kersh) of Blacklick, James Heringhaus (Chris) of Ottawa and Donald Heringhaus (Kay) of Ottawa; and his sisters-in-law, Jane Heringhaus, Marlene Heringhaus and Mary Heringhaus.
