Roger Ruden wrote a sympathy message

“My name is Roger Ruden. Please accept my condolences for your loss. I hung around with John back in the late 60s. We called him Sully. We used to listen to music and share a few beers together. He turned me on to “The Doors” band. He talked me into buying a 55 Chevy that I made into a hot car with a 396 engine in it. He always called coffee a cup of mud. I hadn’t seen him since he left Dubuque years ago. He had a great sense of humor. Once again. So sorry for your loss. Sincerely. Roger”
