He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carey and Mildred Sloan, Jr. (Jones); his wife Katherine; his daughter Rosy; his son-in-law Will Farrell of Matthews; his son Carey; his daughter-in-law Stacey Sloan of Greenville; his grandchildren, Sydney, William, Courtney Farrell, Kaley, Payton and Chelsea Sloan; his sister-in-law Mary Lee (Bob) of Malvern; his niece Betsy Singer (Nick); and his nephew Andrew Postlethwait (Karlotta). He was also cherished by five great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Canton, Trinity Episcopal Church of New Philadelphia or a charity of the donor's choice.
