He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Garmatter and Elvina Garmatter (Tschiegg); his sister Carolyn Frysinger; and his sister-in-law Marlene Tidyman. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Garmatter (Basinger) of Bluffton; his children, Kathy Adams (Wendell) of Kenton and Randy Garmatter (Christy) of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Jake Biery (Hali) of Rawson, Nicole Biery of Rawson, Jordyn Garmatter of Bluffton, Cody Garmatter of Bluffton and Levi Biery of Kenton; his stepgrandchildren, Parker, Amelia and Matilda Mason of Rawson; and his brothers-in-law, Alan Frysinger of Bluffton, Steve Basinger (Stephanie) of Kansas and Bill Tidyman of Nebraska. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
