He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Basinger and Zola Basinger (Disbrow); his brother-in-law Don Thompson; and his son-in-law Bill Sehlhorst. He is survived by: his wife Jeannine Basinger of Bluffton; his children, Jon Basinger (Janice) of Beaverdam, Jan Basinger (Alice) of Bluffton, Jim Basinger (Valentyna) of Walled Lake, Jeanne Wehri (Jerry) of Bluffton, Jodi Brauen (Don) of Bluffton and Julie Oberly (Doug) of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Joe Sehlhorst, Ryan Brauen (Sarah), Jenny Kaple (Mike), Jessica Meyer (Ryan), Janelle Emans (Ross), Jeremy Basinger (Drucilla), Valeria Basinger, Tyler Oberly (Erin), Lane Oberly (Jessica), Kaleigh Howard (Alex), Joshua Basinger and Jordin Basinger; and his sister Elaine Thompson of Bluffton. He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bluffton EMS or Bridge Home Health & Hospice.
