He was predeceased by: his parents, Marden Basinger and Minnie Basinger (Mueller); his brother William Basinger; and his great grandchild Addison Meyer. He is survived by: his wife Joan Basinger of Rawson; his children, Valerie Nusbaum (Paul) of Pandora, Christine Meyer (Thomas) of Rawson, Brent Basinger (Stephanie) of Rawson and Jenny Wilson of Aubrey, Texas; his grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Heidi, Joe, Molly, Abby, Alexandria, Lydia and Raven; and his sisters, Miriam Lee of Pandora and Mary Ann Herr of Bluffton. He is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren.
