He was predeceased by: his parents, Kirby Thomas and Edna Thomas (Dutro); his former wife Virginia Thomas; his children, Jeffery Thomas and Kimberly Krause; and his siblings, Bobby Thomas, Jeannette Watkins, Lahoma Sweazy and Charlotte Ribble.

He is survived by: his wife Sherry Thomas (Gamble); his children, Tammy Fitz (Ron) and Jacala Ryberg (Dean); his grandchildren, Jennifer Thomas, Jamie Thomas, Shannon Sines, Sara Wilson, Ryan Fitz, Austin Krause and Kyle Krause; and his sister Betty McBride. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
