He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Nelson and Louise Clifford Knicely. He is survived by: his wife Becky Nelson of Blue Creek; his brother Kelly Nelson of State, VA; and his grandchildren, Brionna Williams, Dakota Nelson and Gabriel Boultif.
