He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Vandeborne and Thelma Vandeborne (Frey); and his siblings, Fred, Dick Vandeborne and Janet Grimes.

He is survived by: his sons, Robert Vandeborne (Regina) and Chad Vandeborne (Tiffany); his brothers, Donnie Vandeborne (Diane) and Gary Vandeborne (Phyllis); and his grandchildren, Robert, Alexandra, Jayden, Cara, Cameron, Regan and Carson.
