He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy Mason and June Sears; and his sister Joyce. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Wellman Sears; his children, Russell Lee (Pamela Sears), Deborah Ann Thomas and Randall Alan (Beth Sears); his grandchildren, Joshua James (Laura Sears), Emily Ann (Justin Jones), Kyle Aaron (Joanne Sears), Ian James Thomas and Kam Elise Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Layla, Noah, Evie and Jet.

His family requests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
