He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Azora Cook; his children, James Dewy Cook Sr., Teresa Azora Hinkle (Dan), Rebecca Sue Haun (Denise Eckert) and Michael Earl Cook (Anne); his grandchildren, Steven Perry, Scott Cook, Kristin Haun, Dylan Perry, Jeff Cook, Megan Haun, Isabella "Bella" Cook, Connor Cook, Daniel Hinkle and Katie Hinkle; and his siblings, George Cook and Gene Cook.
