He was predeceased by: his parents, George F. Schlechty and Hortense D. Schlechty; his siblings, Charlie, Richard Schlechty and Anna Lou; and his granddaughter Julie.

He is survived by: his wife Anna Schlechty; his children, Shawn Stricklin (Harv), Sheila Ballentine (Dave) and Steve Schlechty (Yvette); and his pet Muggs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Paul's honor may be made to DAV: Disabled American Veterans, Toys for Tots, or to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
