He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleon Merz and Mae Merz. He is survived by: his wife Bette Merz (Doyle); his children, Beverly (Merz), Patricia Merz, Richard Merz, John Merz (Tammy) and Mary Risser (Merz); and his granddaughters, Emily (Merz), Katie Merz and Parker Risser. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
