He is survived by: his spouse Jean Helen Hothem; his pet Bandit; his sons, Harold Owen Ames (Debbie) and Mark Roger Ames (Julie); his siblings, Tommy Ames of Millersburg, Ohio, Donald Ames (Kathy) of Marietta, Ohio, Linda Brenly (Gary Brenly) of Fresno and Darlene Bechtol (George) of Millersburg, Ohio.; his grandchildren, Dr. Ashlee Ames (Mike Poulter) of Springboro, Ohio, Amber Beretich of Grandview, Ohio, Justin Ames (Samantha) of Byesville, Ohio and Julianne Bump (Ryan) of Portage, Michigan.; and his great grandchildren, Emmalee, Matthew Poulter, Jadeyn, Jordyn, Jaycee Ames, Sophia, Lucy, Annalise and Evelyn Bump.
