He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Schatz and Nora Mae Schatz (Denman); his wife Gladys Phillips-Schatz (Landberg); and his former wife Elaine Schatz (Blaser). He is survived by: his son Roger Phillips; his nephews, Jerold M. Schatz (Diane), Jimmy Schatz (Hillary), CJ and John; his niece Holly Schedley; his grandchildren, David Schatz (Sarah), Jerold N. Schatz, Susan West (Roger), Kelsey, Olivia, Elijah, Addison, Gracyn, Reagan, Oliver Schatz, Lillian, Abigail West, Casey Kinnard and Megan Montalvo; his nieces and nephews, Linda Sears, Jacqueline, Micheal Schatz, Laurie Baker (Kevin) and Kevin Brown; his siblings, Norris Schatz and Grace Schatz; and his daughter Christine Phillips.
