He was predeceased by: his sibling James H.. He is survived by: his spouse Gail; his children, George A. IV (Darlene), Jacqueline L. Bohannon, Jeffrey L. (Jill) and Jennifer B. Troxell (Scott); and his siblings, Beverly Giles and Norma Freeman.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Services of Southwest General.
