It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Obed James Snelson Jr. of Bellville, Ohio, born in Elkins, West Virginia, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Obed Snelson and Marie Snelson (Channell); his former wife Marilyn Winn; his grandson Philip Snelson; his siblings, Reta Snelson and Glen Snelson; and his son-in-law Tommy Metheney.

He is survived by: his children, James Snelson (Chengxia), Dennis Snelson (Barbara) and Anita Metheney; and his grandchildren, Alana Gillson, Alyssa Snelson, Angie Snelson, Mark Snelson (Kristen) and Lynette Heniff (Mike). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.

Donations in honor of Obed may be made to the Bellville-Jefferson Township Rescue Squad or Southern Care Hospice.
