He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen Shutt and Leeta Shutt (Walters); his daughter Bonita Shutt; and his siblings, Larry Shutt and Sharon Seamens.

He is survived by: his pets, Sassy, Sugar and Ginger; his wife Nancy Shutt; his children, Rusty L. Shutt (Nylene), Scott P. Shutt (Laura), Belynda Sauder (Randy) and Bryon Shutt; his grandchildren, Rusty R. Shutt (Valerie), Jade M. Shutt (Cassie), Seth T. Shutt, Esmeralda Shutt, Brandon Sauder (Marilyn), Drew Sauder (Kayla), Samantha Sauder, Jeremy Rosborough (Erica) and Ashley Shutt; his great grandchildren, Lukas, Leia, Imily, Ruby, Paisley, Colt, Cassie, Allie, Macie, Tallulah, Kai, Arianna and Demoni; his sister Diana Young (Loyal); and his sister-in-law Kathleen Shutt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
