She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Ballard and Irene Ballard-Berry (Cobb); her grandchildren, Scott McDonnell, Kendra and Jenna Armstrong; her former husband Michael McDonnell; and her sister Judi McPeak.
She is survived by: her husband James Gayheart; her children, Crystal Ulery (Randy), Bryana McDonnell (William Armstrong) and Thomas McDonnell (Molly); and her grandchildren, Kayla, Dylan, Duke, Abel and Avah. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
