He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Gibbs and Lucy Gibbs (Lewis); his son Curtis J. J. Gibbs; his grandson Clayton J. Sullivan II; and his siblings, Remona Hensley (Gibbs), Ray Gibbs, Rose Jarvis (Gibbs), Renus Gibbs, Ruth Hensley (Gibbs), Mary Hensley (Gibbs) and Joann Hensley (Gibbs).
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Kirby; his children, Rochell Gibbs, Richard McClanahan, Chandra Hammons and Everett Joshua Lee Lawson; and his siblings, Leonard Gibbs (Barbara) and Brenda Griffin (Gibbs). He is also survived by his 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service (610 S Washington St, Castalia, OH 44824). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
