He is survived by: his children, Terry McConnell (Pat) of Bellevue, Mary Ross (Ed) of Bellevue, Gregory McConnell (Sherry) of Republic, Suzanna Hintze (George) of Fremont, Nancy Thomas (Ron) of Wooster, David McConnell (Cindy) of Bloomville, Theresa Leber (Fred) of Monroeville, Mark McConnell of Attica, Debbie Dresser (Scott) of Monroeville and Valerie Bumb (Mark) of Bellevue; and his sister Cleo Jean Wolfe. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson.
Memorial donations may be made in Gus' honor to St. Gaspar del Bufalo, the St. Sebastian Cemetery Fund, or to the Sorrowful Mother Shrine.
